Deep in the mountain of Luzon in the northern Philippines, live the Aeta, the oldest tribe in the Philippines.
Now the tribe has new hero. Zeta Diaz “the bringer of light”
Diaz along with 4 other has just got back from India where they were invited by a special college to learn how to harness solar energy and build their own lamps battery panels.
Although language barrier was not a hindrance for them to communicate and it did not become an issue, they use sign-language instead to get the message across.
After 6 months they went back to Philippines to teach what they learned. Now Zeta Diaz is known as “the bringer of light”, although people in their community still call it fire.
Isolated villages such as theirs are still far from getting electricity, thus they have to rely in their skills.
The Aeta or Agta, are an indigenous people who live in scattered, isolated mountainous parts of the island of Luzon, the Philippines.
